The Last Green Valley is a National Heritiage Corridor created by Congress in 1994. The region is "green by day and dark by night', a place with a history of rural landscape with 84% forest and farmland. The Corridor is the last swath of dark night-sky in the coastal sprawl between Boston and Washington, DC.
As a Heritage Corridor, The Last Green Valley works together with citizens, businesses, non-profit cultural and environmental organizations, state and local governments and the National Park Service to preserve and celebrate the cultural, historical, and natural heritage.
