The Liponi Foundation for Special Recreation was founded in 1990 to support the Maine-Niles Association of Special Recreation (M-NASR). Every dollar raised by the Liponi Foundation goes directly to assist M-NASR in its mission to provide individuals with disabilities access to meaningful and life-enriching recreation and leisure opportunities. The donations that we receive allow us to fund wheelchair-accessible vehicles that transport M-NASR participants to programs and events. The Stella LiPomi Memorial Scholarship Fund helps to ensure that all participants are able to attend M-NASR programs, regardless of their financial circumstances.

The Foundation sponsors two popular annual events for M-NASR participants as well, underwritten entirely by the Foundation and trustees volunteer to provide extra helping hands.
