Mission: The Literacy Connection is dedicated to helping adults in the northwest Chicago suburbs reach their literacy goals through one-on-one volunteer tutoring and small group instruction.

About Us:
The Literacy Connection, an affiliate of ProLiteracy, is a non-profit, community-based 501(c)(3) organization helping individuals acquire fundamental literacy skills and learn to read, write, speak and understand English. Learners are provided tutoring services free of charge in the sixteen communities we serve. 

The Literacy Connection was organized in 1983. Since that time, hundreds of volunteers have provided thousands of learners with tens of thousands of hours of tutoring. The agency has won numerous national honors. We are a proud member of the Elgin Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce.
