Founded in 2001, The Little Bit Foundation works to eliminate barriers to learning for under-resourced students in the St. Louis region. Embedded in 47 schools in the St. Louis community, we bring programs and partnerships into the lives of students across every grade level that address basic needs, provide health education and intervention, and expand academic and career opportunities. Our vision is to be a source of support for students during their educational journey, so that they may graduate and go on to become successful members of a stronger St. Louis. Our programs are designed so that our volunteers and staff members can be a consistent presence in our partner schools, helping them achieve their goals and providing holistic support that meets all of our students' needs.

We currently serve more than 14,000 students in grades pre-K-12. Our core services promote healthy youth development and support students’ personal comfort, dignity, and self-esteem with essential items such as clothing, including school uniforms, shoes, winter clothing, and hygiene items in our Little Bit Boutiques, located in each of our partner schools.

Educational support includes literacy programs (2 free book fairs in each school we serve, students get 2 new books at each fair), STEM learning resources like First Lego League and STEM Lingo, and school supplies. Our College and Career Readiness programming is aimed at helping students stay on track for graduation and become successful members of the community through mentoring, and career exploration. Wellness and Family Support pilot program in 6 SLPS schools – expands support to the whole family, connecting them with additional resources, when necessary.
