The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College - Los Angeles Chapter(NAAS-LA) was founded in 1955. It is the official organization that supports Spelman College through financial gifts, student recruitment, and recognition of Spelman women. NAASC-LA provides, encourages, and promotes the growth and development of alumnae through leadership opportunities and partnership alliances.

For the last 29 years, NAASC-LA has provided scholarships to more than 175 students from the Greater Los Angeles Area totaling over $730,000. In the last 3 years, our alumnae donor contribution has exceeded $100,000.  Last year, with contributions from corporate sponsors, alumnae donors, and in-kind donations for our silent auction, NAASC-LA donated over $80,000 dollars in scholarships funds to help mitigate the financial challenges that many students face upon their college journey.

NAASC-LA is committed to serving underepresented communities to help them have access to high education.  Our members volunteer many hours to guide and prepare students to attend college through mentorship, recruitment and workshops to prepare students for college.
