Much of what has been accomplished with Perfect Game started with nothing more than an idea.

The Perfect Game network began in 1993 with a vision from former scout and college coach Jerry Ford. That vision was simple: "To give young players the best opportunity for success, to help scouts and recruiters see and evaluate players, and to grow the game of baseball at all levels." This was the dream.

Since its inception, Perfect Game has gone on to become  the industry leader in growing the game of baseball and its amateur players.

In 2003, The Perfect Game Foundation, Inc. was formed as a 501(c)(3) public charity. Jerry decided that the success of Perfect Game allowed great opportunity to use the platform to give back. Throughout the years, The Perfect Game Foundation, Inc. has helped raise over $3.5 million for pediatric cancer for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Rady Children's Hospital, Golisano Children's Hospital and The Toby Keith Foundation's OK Kids Korral as well as to the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center and the Boys and Girls Club, among other wonderful organizations.

Beginning in 2018, a milestone shift occurred when the foundation expanded its footprint to become The Perfect Game Cares Foundation.

Perfect Game Cares will continue to support and expand the amazing initiatives we have historically dedicated ourselves to. 2020 brought our largest and most expansive initiative to date: supporting, empowering and inspiring America's underserved children in our most impoverished neighborhoods in athletics, education and mentorship through our Grow the Game Fund.

The Grow the Game Fund is a partnership of Perfect Game, Perfect Game Cares, Perfect Game alumni, current and former MLB players and corporate partners from across America. The program is dedicated to providing opportunities for baseball and softball players from the many underserved and at-risk communities across America.

The Grow the Game Fund provides: free youth camps across America as the entry into baseball/softball, funding for youth players to enter programming right in their neighborhoods, gear packages for underserved athletes, financial assistance for players to attend Perfect Game showcases and sponsorship to remove entry barriers and expense of travel baseball/softball and partnerships with like-minded individuals and organizations.
