The PROP Shop is a nonprofit organization giving free clothing, household goods, and furniture to low-income families in Eden Prairie and Chanhassen, Minnesota. Its mission is to provide basic support for families in need through volunteers, community, and other organizations.
The PROP Shop accepts donations of gently used goods, including clothing, toys, furniture, and household items. These items are either given to low-income families for free in its Family Services area or sold for a discounted price in its adjacent resale store. The PROP Shop stocks its Family Services area first to ensure basic needs are met, and its resale store funds operations and programs. To date, the organization has directly served over 1,800 families with furniture items and more than 3,600 families with clothing and household goods. The PROP Shop has more than 350 active volunteers and provides community service opportunities for civic organizations, businesses, faith-based organizations, adults, and youth.
The PROP Shop’s values are to provide services to families in need with respect, dignity, kindness, intentionality, and integrity. Its vision is to see every family (individual) has their basic needs met. The PROP Shop’s goals are to grow and maintain services that compassionately and efficiently meet the needs of local families.
