Our mission is to combat discrimination and to destigmatize mental health conditions in children and young adults. We work with schools and communities throughout North Central and Central MA, but have recently been expanding out to other areas including MetroWest, Nashoba Valley, and Southeast areas. Shine Initiative educates youth and young adults on mental health issues, provides local resources for professional treatment and works to remove the stigma associated with these common illnesses. Our middle and high school program involves presentations to faculty and students, as well as an ongoing student wellness club, called a Mindmatters Team, which we support alongside a faculty advisor/champion.
