Tickets for Kids believes all children deserve the opportunity to attend a ballgame, theater performance, museum, or amusement park.  Therefore, we provide this experience for nearly 50,000 children each year who would never be able to afford these experiences.

The program is simple. We partner with our community's cultural and entertainment venues, corporations, and individiuals to take their donated tickets and provide them to local in-need youth.

We find these youth by partnering with nearly 400 social service agencies, schools, and government programs. In order for an agency to partner with our program, at least 70% of those they serve need to be considered low-income or at-risk.  These are kids who have food and housing insecurity, suffer from physical and mental health conditions, lack parental support, or live in unsafe communities.

What we provide is so much more than a ticket. It is a chance to feel included, hopeful, and joy when joy is not common in their world.  Here is an example of the impact our program makes:

"Thank you, TFK, for the incredible opportunity to bring some of our families to Valleyfair for a day! This year, we chose to invite several families who are currently participating in our Hotel Shelter Program. The summer days can get long pretty quickly when the entire family is cooped up inside one small room with no bedroom doors, privacy, or even a kitchen to prepare favorite family meals. Being able to escape for a day to spend time at Valleyfair offered these families a chance to relax, have fun, make cherished family memories, and leave their worries behind, at least for a few hours. Sometimes kids who are unsheltered have a hard time talking about life outside of school, so having an opportunity to attend a cool activity like Valleyfair offers them a sense of belonging and normalcy they are sometimes lacking. Thanks to TFK, these kids will be able to head back to school this fall with stories of at least one fun adventure from their summer break! Since we attended as a group, it was also a great opportunity for families to meet others going through a similar experience and it was fun to see the parents and kids making connections and choosing to spend time together at the park."
