Our Mission:  to provide personalized services to those who require support, enabling them to make informed chocies regardinghow they live, work and function productively and independently in the community.

Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) is an award winning non-profit headquartered in San Diego and has been providing services to children and adults with developmental disabilities since 1981 and to the deaf and hard of hearing since 2000.  TMI is dedicated to helping men, women and children to live a life of independence by working "real jobs for real pay", by having the opportunity to live in "a home of their own" and by "matching children and teens with loving foster parents".  Currently we provide serivces to over 600 children and adults.  Our corporate office is located in San Diego, with additional branch offices in: Escondido, Temecula, El Centro and Corona.

We provide services in four broad areas:

  • Evolution to Independence
