Our mission: “To refurbish and recycle gently-used toys for disadvantaged children and seniors in care facilities while providing meaningful volunteer opportunities for the young-at-heart.”
Toy Rescue Mission (TRM) is a 100% volunteer ran 501c3 children's charity located in WA State. We are unique in that we are open year round providing Birthday Gifts, Easter baskets, school supplies and backpacks, Halloween costumes and Christmas gifts. In 2019 we served over 12,000 children all low income on some form of state assistance.
While our main mission is to refurbish gently used toys through volunteers, we also serve the community by having a safe workplace for volunteers from all walks of life. Our volunteers include children themselves, adults with spare time, seniors that still want to be active and use skills they perhaps used on a paying job and students and others fulfilling community service. Several years ago, we expanded our volunteer outreach to include those with minor offenses of the law.
This past year we refurbished and distributed more than 38,000 books, toys and stuffed animals. While we strive to repurpose as many gently used items as possible some items cannot be reused such as cosmetics and toiletries which are given to our teens and seniors.
