The main purpose of TradeWinds Services is to serve people with special needs by empowering them to realize their full potential.

Today, TradeWinds is a full-service agency providing services from infants to seniors. TradeWinds has continued with our children’s programs of all-inclusive Childcare and Children’s Summer/Functional Skills & Winter Camps, and Speech & Occupational Therapy in local classrooms. Our adults with developmental and physical disabilities programs include Adult Day Activity Program & Training (ADAPT), Transitional Vocation Training for ages 18-24, Pre-Vocational Services in Packaging & Assembly and Order Fulfillment, Sewing Manufacturing, Sign Shop, Employment Services and Pathways to Employment for ages 16-24; Residential Group and Supported Living Homes; Respite for Caregivers, Deaf Services; and a Chicago Lighthouse Low Vision Clinic for residents of Northwest Indiana.

We take great pride in helping our participants reach new goals every day. For over 50 years, TradeWinds has continued to meet the increasing need for these services, making a direct impact on the lives of local children and adults with special needs, their families, and the Northwest Indiana community.
