Transforming Families is an inclusive safe space for families with transgender and questioning youth. We provide five monthly peer support meetings, advocate for the rights of trans and non-binary youth, and engage with the community to create a safer and more understanding environment for our kids.
Now more than ever, our families need support. Transforming Families is part of a coalition of Minnesota nonprofits working to welcome individuals and families fleeing from states where legislation has limited access to basic human rights. We fundraise because we believe that all transgender youth deserve to be safe, healthy and happy.
Our funds are used for many purposes, including:
- Youth Programming and Events (monthly support meetings; game nights)
- Caregiver Programming and Education (monthly support meetings; special events)
- Community Outreach (MN Trans Refuge Coalition; Pride events; education panels)
- Advocacy (school support and education; insurance navigation)
- Staffing (teen, tween and children’s group leaders; director and staff)
