The Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center (TECEC) is the first free-standing public special needs preschool program in Connecticut. Built on the firm foundation of an integrated education model, every classroom in TECEC educates children of all learning-capacities, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and understanding. TECEC believes no child is typical; that every child is unique; and all children have valuable contributions to the lives and educations of their classmates. TECEC provides a high-quality early education in a nurturing environment for over 250 children between the ages of 3-5 years old. TECEC has four program models which include: an integrated Special Education Program for children with and without identified special needs; a Specialized Resource Program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder; two Head Start classrooms for children who are economically disadvantaged; and an English language Learner program for children who have limited English proficiency.
