Tulare-Kings Counties Youth For Christ, also known as Campus Life, works with 11-19 year old young people throughout our twin county area. We provide several different ways to connect with students and help them be successful in life. We partner with our local school districts and provide mentoring services to students to help them overcome the obsticles they may face on a daily basis. We work with all students, but many of our students face fatherlessness, gang related behavior, drugs, alcohol, poor performance in their academics, childhood trauma, and the lack of a positive adult in their lives. Our work as mentors is very successful as we see our students set goals, find purpose and hope in life and grow in a desire to be successful in life.
We help resource students who want to start clubs on their school campus, and we start after school clubs in their communities. We have two youth centers. One in Dinuba which we fund with a Phone-a-thon, and one youth center in Tulare which is funded by Tulare City School District.
We provide mentoring to teen parents throughout Parent Life program which comes alongside teen moms and dads with mentoring and life skills, and items they may need as they begin a family.
We also work with Kings County Juvenile Hall and our staff and volunteers go into the faciltiy every Thursday to run support groups for the young people who are being held.
We work with over 3,600 different students every year, and we see positive change in their lives. The speciic communities we are currently working in are: Visalia, Dinuba, Sultana, Orosi, Woodlake, Porterville, Pixley, Tulare, Hanford, & Lemoore
