UCI Medical Center is rated among the nations' best hospital's by US News & World Report for the 22nd consecutive year, with nationally ranked programs in gynecology, urology, nephrology and geriatric medicine. UCI Medical Center is the only Level 1 adult and Level 2 pediatric trauma center, and includes a large National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, regional burn center and NICU for premature babies. The medical center transfuses over 1,000 units of blood to patients each month. UCI Health has 2 blood donation centers, one in the city of Orange and the other in Irvine. UCI has over 100 specialties in medicine to offer the community for outpatient services, ER, surgeries, trauma, neonatal intensive care unit, cardiac care, burn intensive care unit and more. UCI Health comprises the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine. The medical center is a 417-bed acute care hospital providing tertiary and quaternary care, ambulatory and specialty medical, behavioral health and rehabilitation services.
