UUCF is a progressive religious congregation whose mission is to transform ourselves, our community, and the world through acts of love and justice. We are committed to ongoing reflection, advocacy, and action on climate change, preventing gun violence, ending homelessness in our county, and welcoming and supporting the LGBTQ community. Our Racial Justice Steering Committee is working on long-term advocacy in support of the Black Lives Matter campaign. Our Immigrant Justice Committee acts to resist policy proposals that target the deportation of undocumented immigrants.
Our Refugee Resettlement Project is sponsoring a family from Afghanistan housing the homeless on our campus as part of an interfaith effort to provide shelter during our area’s coldest months. UUCF volunteers teach ESOL classes for disadvantaged immigrant residents and UUCF organizes and collect short-term food, grocery gift certificates and financial assistance for families in need. This is only a small sampling of how UUCF strives to enact our mission to “Grow, Connect, and Serve.”
