United Sound's mission is to remove barriers and foster social change through peer mentorships in music. Over 3.2 million students with special needs have no access to extracurricular instrumental music education in our schools. Teacher recieve no training for teaching music to students with special needs, they have not time to devote to them, and there is no curriculum. United Sound provides the solutions to include these students in the schools across the United States. We provide teacher and student peer mentor training, the student mentors lead the chapters (to relieve the burden on already overwhelmed teachers), and United Sound provides the method books, lesson plans, and more. All of this is done at no cost to the new musician (the student with special needs). We need your support by donating to our solent auction at our annual fundraising concernt to continue to fund this amazing and incusive educational program nationwide.
