WHO WE SERVE
UWCWC serves over 25% of Connecticut’s population, spanning 27 communities in Fairfield and Southern Litchfield Counties. Through a combination of direct services, community partnerships, impact philanthropy, and advocacy, UWCWC works tirelessly to improve economic opportunities and outcomes for ALICE households.
ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households are families who struggle to afford basic necessities and are one crisis away from financial instability. In Fairfield and Southern Litchfield Counties, nearly 42% (an estimated 116,461 individuals and children) of households fall below the ALICE threshold, facing daily challenges related to housing, food, transportation, childcare, healthcare, and utilities.
