At United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg, we believe that every individual in our region — particularly those who face longstanding disadvantages — deserves to be supported along the path to success. In 2021, United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg launched WomenRise, a scholarship program that provides financial assistance to help single moms cover the cost of childcare while they work toward a post-secondary degree or credential.
United Way is engaged in nearly 1,800 communities across more than 40 countries and territories worldwide. We are focused on creating community-based and community-led solutions that strengthen the cornerstones for a good quality of life: education, financial stability and health.
