United Way of Seneca County (UWSC) is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes, NY. UWSC works with a network of local community partners to create lasting impact to improve education, health and financial stability for everyone in Seneca County. While we are active members of United Way Worldwide, UWSC is completely autonomous in our governing and financial oversight, and we take great pride in our ability to keep 100% of donations right here in Seneca County. As you are aware, many individuals and families are struggling across the country and our rural communities are no different.

We often find ourselves facing the same issues as larger urban areas, but with far fewer funding opportunities and resources. UWSC is a central player in helping to address many of these issues too large for any one agency or program to solve – addiction, suicide, poverty and illiteracy. Our overdose and suicide rates remain higher than the national average and, with nearly half our residents living as ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed – or paycheck to paycheck, without a safety net in case of emergency and generally ineligible for assistance), COVID hit our communities especially hard.
