To introduce ourselves, we are Unity Dragon & Lion Dance Troupe, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Houston, Texas. Our mission is dedicated to empowering individuals to learn and promote the art of dragon dance, lion dance, and martial arts regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, or transgender status), age, disability, genetic information, marital status, political affiliation, and status as a parent.
In our community, we advocate creating a welcoming environment for our sponsors, members, clients, and audiences by encouraging community activism in forms of live acrobatic performances, volunteering, social work, and donations. We teach our members, perform for hundreds of audiences per year, speak on national television, and engage in interviews for national newspapers to promote the heritage, art, and culture of Chinese and Vietnamese-based Asian Americans. We strive to be successful in creating a unified team that aids each other in their own cultural and individual growths as well as make an everlasting mark on our audiences by ushering in happiness and prosperity.
