We joke that the Commons is the 'living room" for VCU. But in reality, it really is. The Commons serves the entire student population with places to meet friends, eat, relax and study. It serves as the conference center for the University and its over 450 Student Orgnizations. We are also the programming hub for student events each year such as Weeks of Welcome that helps to create a sense of belonging for all students.
The true mission and vision of the Commons and USCA is to enhance students’ education through high impact programs, activities and spaces designed to offer a holistic college experience that encourages students to connect, learn, explore, and thrive in a global society.
The vision of The Commons is to be the central place at the university for student activity and to be among the nation’s top university commons in facilities, programs, student development, and civic engagement. The Commons is student-centered and seeks to attain standards of excellence in all areas of services and engagement.
