Urban Autism Solutions' mission is to change outcomes for youg adults with autism and related challenges through social, vocational and residential programs. UAS works primarily with West Side Chicago public high school students ages 16 - 22. UAS provides supplemental services to those they recieve in school. At our West Side Transition Academy, students learn communcation skills and get speech-language thearpy and social services from licensed clinicians. They also participate in community immersion experiences like exploring Chicago via public transit and gain vocational skills through participation in our internship programs, Washdog and Taylor Sweep. Students also work at our 1.2 acre Growing Solutions Farm. They learn about urban agriculture while gaining transferrbale job skills. For students who are job ready, we help connect them to jobs in competitive employment.
