Our mission statement: To honor the sons and daughters of Van Zandt County and all Military Veterans through education and services, while providing a place of reflection.  Create solutions to maintain and preserve our grounds and museum.  To recognize Veterans' contributions to the United States and to positively impact all we serve including providing services to Veterans in need.

The Van Zandt County Veterans Memorial Plaza is open to the public 24/7 and the museum and gift shop which is co-located is open 6 days a week from 1000-1600.  We conduct tours for county children and make the plaza available for community meetings.  We also provide college scholarships to veterans' children on a competitive basis and provide emergency financial assistance to veterans and their families on a case-by-case basis.   We conduct County Memorial and Veterans Day Ceremonies every year.
