As one of the oldest organizations in Verona, we value the standard of living Verona has to offer and are honored to protect and serve within this great community. Cherished most of all are the relationships that exist between our members, town residents and business owners. As newer younger members join the PBA, we encourage them to build new relationships and honor those that have been established over the decades. Our organization is strong and cohesive. Because of this, we are able to better serve the community with dignity and pride.

The Verona PBA gives to several outstanding programs such as:

· Backpacks for Life:  Founded by a Verona resident, this program assists veterans to reenter society with a support system. Backpacks for life helps veterans with obstacles such as homelessness, finding a job, housing or giving them a backpack full of daily essentials to help them survive. This organization helps to serve those who have protected our country.

· Foster and Adoptive Services: Now known as Embrella, provides services and support, training opportunities for foster, adoptive and kinship families, and others having the responsibility for and/or the interest in the well-being of children. The Verona PBA donates every year around the Christmas Season. This year we donated over $600.00 worth of toys to the children.

· American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: AFSP raises awareness, funds, scientific research and provides resources to aid those affected by suicide. After losing a high school student in 2018 to suicide the Verona PBA has focused efforts on Suicide Prevention, our PBA has met with the Mallory’s Army family as well as joined AFSP on their Suicide Walk. The Verona PBA donated $500.00 to the AFSP this year.

In addition the Verona PBA donates to the towns baseball organizations, student scholarships, Verona Music Association, we give Christmas Trees and Thanksgiving dinner to families in need in our community, Essex County Emerald Society, Verona Unico, Verona Rescue Squad, Special Olympics, Families behind the badge, Verona UNICO, NJSPBA Survivor and Welfare, Valerie Fund, Leia’s Kids, New Jersey Special Olympics, Verona Together, American Heart Association, and numerous individuals and families in need.
