The Valencia High School wrestling team is a self-supporting athletic team. The program is funded completely by donations. As a means of funding the VHS Wrestling Team, we have formed VHS Wrestling Boosters Inc. VHS Wrestling Boosters Inc. is a California non-profit corporation and is a recognized public charity organized specifically to raise funds to support the operations of the team. These expenses include: uniforms, tournament fees, transportation, lodging, and district coaching fees.
The VHS Wrestling Team is beginning its 9th season! In our short 9 years, we have had numerous CIF champions, CIF State medalists and 2 State Champions!
Wrestling is both a team sport and an individual sport. Each season our team is growing. This year we have 38 wrestlers in the program. Wrestling is for student athletes of all sizes and weights, ranging from 100 pounds to 295 pounds, each competing in their own weight class. Unlike many sports, every wrestler participates in every league meet or tournament; no one sits on the bench. The sport of wrestling builds physical fitness, self-discipline, mental and physical agility, goal setting, team building, sportsmanship, and self-confidence. Our wrestlers are dedicated to working hard, being good representatives of our community, and building skills and discipline that will help them be successful and productive adults.
