Virginia German Shepherd Rescue is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that is run entirely by volunteers. One hundred percent of our funding comes from donations and different fundraising events. We depend on donations to help us pay for medical expenses for the dogs such as spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, medical exams, heartworm testing and treatment, and any other medical treatments that may be required. Even though we have saved over 4,600 dogs over the last 21 years, there is no end in sight of dogs that need our help. If you are familiar with our work, you already know that we are one of the few rescues in the area who helps elderly dogs and dogs with special needs or medical issues. Oftentimes, we are their only hope. It is only with your generosity and support that are we able to continue our mission of assisting the many dogs that need our help.
