The mission of the W.H. Nichols Detachment #940 is to promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; and to foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.

We are an all-volunteer organization, no salaries are paid; we operate solely on fundraising, donations and grants.  The services offered by Folsom's W.H. Nichols Detachment #940 include:

Honor Guard Services for burials of Veterans that include rifle firing, playing of taps and presentation of flag to loved ones;

Color Guard services for parades and special events in the local and surrounding area;

Provide financial scholarships to Folsom and Vista Del Lago High Schools and the Cadet program at Casa Roble High School

Provide professional, financial and needed assistance to Veterans in distress.
