The purpose of the Walt Whitman High School PTSA is to promote the partnership between the parents and caregivers, students and faculty and staff of Walt Whitman High School, acting as a forum for communication, community building, fostering school spirit, and supporting the vision, guiding principles and programs of Walt Whitman School. We strive to support these groups at Walt Whitman High School by working together to plan and implement effective and inclusive community building events.
Post Prom is sponsored by the Walt Whitman High School PTSA as an alcohol and drug-free event for all of Walt Whitman's high school seniors. It begins after prom has ended and runs from 12:30-4:30 am, providing food, entertainment, dancing, raffle items, and fun for our students. It was started by a parent after a Whitman senior was killed in a car crash after prom as a result of alcohol.
