The goal of the Washburn Arts Council is to ensure that Washburn’s performing and visual arts programs are able to sustain a meaningful learning environment and be accessible to all students. We believe it is the responsibility of ALL of us to ensure that our students have exposure and access to the arts. The Washburn Arts Council believes in the power of the arts to inspire, captivate, and transform our students and the community. We help provide funding for things that the school cannot afford to fund, like field trips, instruments, guest artists, voice lessons for kids that can't afford them, materials for special projects, and so much more. We serve all the students at Washburn who take arts classes or participate in the arts as an extracurricular activity through band, orchestra, choir, visual arts, Black Box social justice theater and theater.
