Washington Open is a parent-participation school that nurtures the whole child, offering a collaborative community that allows for a rich variety of hands-on, real-world learning opportunities inside and outside of the classroom. We balance academic, social, physical, and emotional needs, while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and a life-long love of learning.
To help accomplish this mission, each year the Washington Open Parent Faculty Group (WOPFG) coordinates community building events that also raise much-needed funds to support the whole-child learning programs that our integral to the success of our school. Those funds are used to supplement field trip costs, buy classroom supplies for teachers and students, and to support enrichment programs. WOPFG is a non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible.
WOPFG also provides support to volunteers throughout the year in the form of training/learning opportunities, supplies and hosting family events.
