The Waxahachie Band Booster was created to serve and support The Spirit of Waxahachie.
The Spirit of Waxahachie is the Waxahachie High School's band, in Waxahachie Texas. Presently there are approximately 280 students in the organization who work hard all year to develop their talents and technique. Our students are committed to working both individually and as a group to help each other and as a group achieves their accomplishments all school year long.
The school year starts in August, but you will find the students voluntarily working during summer camp. They compete in regional competitions every weekend in October in preparation to qualify for the State competition in early November, all while also performing every Friday evening for our Waxahachie football team.
Since 1999, The Spirit of Waxahachie has qualified and competed in the State level UIL marching competition, which is one of our greatest recognitions. When marching season comes to an end, our students then focus on individual music and instrument education and compete in the All-State competition. This year, we had six members qualify for the All-State Band! During the winter and spring, the students focus on the orchestral part of their music education, where they also prepare for UIL concert competitions and have also been named as an Honor band for the Texas Music Educators Association.
We are very proud of our students and work hard as an organization to make sure they have the necessary support such as supplies, technicians, food and lodging, transportation, props, and equipment throughout the year in order to help them achieve their dreams!
