The Wayne Theatre seeks to provide the very highest and best experience for our youth that will encourage their connection to community and society-at-large indiscriminately.
The mission of the program is to present educational theater that engages children in meaningful ways to help to complement school curricula, deal with complex societal issues, and to cultivate an appreciation of the performing arts.
In the first year that the doors opened to the Wayne Theatre, the organization served 3,000 children from both public and private schools, and home schooled students who traveled up to an hour to attend a performance. These numbers clearly demonstrated a need to continue to develop arts educational programing at the Wayne. The interest and numbers for the arts programming continues to increase. Participation to date totals more than 35,000 youth. A report from our ticketing system indicates schools traveled to attend the arts education programs at the Wayne Theatre from 47 zip codes, and now offering Live streaming options we are limitless geographically.
