The Lamar Wesley Foundation is committed to offering ministry and missions to all of God's people. Our vision for the next phase of the life of the Wesley Foundation is sustainability so that we can continue to reach the diverse population of Southeast Texas.
The deaf community is considered the 3rd largest community in America that is unreached by the church, and Lamar University holds one of the largest programs for Deaf studies and education in the nation. Our goal is to reach out and serve this important campus community.
In recent years, our area has seen a rise in natural disasters. This has led us on a mission to teach young adults the skills needed to respond responsibly and quickly to the effected community.
Malnutrition is a problem on many university campuses, and Lamar has a particular challenge in this area because of the socio-economic background of our students. We seek to create a stand-alone food pantry so that we may offer more nutritious food options for students.
