Our purpose is: COLLABORATIVELY CREATE A KIND, CARING, AND INCLUSIVE LEARNING COMMUNITY. ENSURE EVERY STUDENT APPROACHES CHALLENGES WITH A GROWTH MINDSET AND HAS A STRONG SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL FOUNDATION. PROVIDE LEARNING THAT IS STUDENT-CENTERED, JOYFUL, AND EQUITABLE FOR ALL.
Whom it serves: 587 children at West Portal
How: West Portal Parents Club serves to collborate with the school's staff and administration to create a kind, caring and inclusive learning community. Our baord of 20 members provides support to the school from every aspect such as clasroom upgrades recommendations, provide funds to rebuid old playgrounds, enchance recess time by purchasing ariticial turks for kids to play on and purchasing of equipment for kids to tinker on. We also support school activties such as: Read-a-palooza, Pumpkin Patch, Chinese Performing Arts CPAP, turkey trot, Lunar New Year Festival, Makers Faire, Olympics, Musical and Rock show.
