For 30 years, West Sound Wildlife Shelter has provided injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife a second chance at life and promotes the well-being of wildlife and their habitats through public outreach, education, and involvement.

West Sound Wildlife Shelter was founded in 1992 when it became apparent there was a stark need to have an animal hospital that specialized in injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife. For 30 years, we have served as a beacon of hope for wildlife in need.

First, and foremost, we are a wildlife hospital that annually treats 90+ species from 14+ counties throughout our region. Annually, we care for over 1500+ wildlife patients with an 80% release rate. We also serve as an important training and educational center. Our staff, wildlife educators, and wildlife ambassadors bring species natural history and conservation to life with our live animal presentations. Through our educational programs, we are able to engage and inspire future generations to become environmental stewards.

West Sound Wildlife Shelters goal is to continue offering uninterrupted wildlife care 7-days a week, plus daily training to our 50+ dedicated volunteers who help our small staff to care for our fragile patients.
