First Tee is a youth development organization that enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. We create active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids can carry to everything they do. First Tee is a youth development Life Skills and Healthy Habits program that uses the game of golf to reinforce our lessons. The program was designed by experts in the fields of positive youth development, sport psychology, education and golf. Life skills incorporate Interpersonal Skills Self-Management, Goal Setting and Resilience Skills. Nine Healthy habits are implemented in the categories of Physical, Emotional and Social health and promote healthy lifestyles for participants and their families. First Tee seamlessly integrates the game of golf with this curriculum. The game creates an active learning experience that helps build inner strength, self confidence and resilience that kids can carry on to everything they do. First Tee is a program designed for young people from every socio-economic background, ages 5 –17 years. In 2021, our programs served 694 unique kids and teens in the Greater Wichita area. In 2022, we have aspecial emphasis in growing the number of at risk and diverse families participating in our programming and expect over 800 youth to come through our program.
