The mission of Willcox Theater and Arts is to be an entertainment, education, and cultural hub for all ages.

Willcox Theater and Arts, Inc. (WTA), which began as a renovation of the two movie theaters, is now the entertainment, art, community, and cultural hub for the City of Willcox and Northern Cochise County, serving families, youth, and seniors in a rural, low-income area.

In 2016, the board acquired and renovated the building next door, Studio 128, to offer art classes, exhibits, workshops, and performances. In addition to offering first-run films, Willcox offers the annual RAMP (Rural Arizona Music Performance) Series, "Stage to Cinema" productions from around the world, an annual Independent Film Festival, “Matinee My Way” for special needs populations, nine ArtsRageous Summer Youth Camps, WAMM (Willcox Arts, Music, and Movies) Festival, school performances, and community fundraisers and happenings of all kinds in partnership with local Willcox organizations.

Historic Willcox, and the surrounding agricultural areas using Willcox as their home base, is located in the Chihuahuan high desert of the Sulphur Springs Valley in Northern Cochise County of Southeastern Arizona, bisected by Interstate 10 and the railroad. The remote, rural community spans 6.3 square miles with no other town more than 5,000 within 30 miles of its center, and 80 miles away from the nearest city. The greater Willcox population is 9,810, 22% of whom live in poverty.

Much of Willcox Theater and Arts programming is low or no cost, especially programs specific to students and senior citizens who are most impacted by travel distances and economics. We provide a wide variety of high-caliber programming and creative opportunities so our rural community can access arts, cultural, and educational activities.
