Brief Description of the Foundation

Endorsed by the Wilson Area School Board, The Wilson Area Partners in Education Foundation (WAPEF) is an independent charitable 501(c)(3) organization registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We serve to supplement traditional funding sources for the district to provide and support innovative projects, programs and experiences that enhance the educational journeys of students in grades K-12.


WAPEF partners with members of our school and business communities, along with the community-at-large, to pave a road filled with wonder and possibility for local children and youth. 

Since its inception in 2005, WAPEF has allocated over $250,000 to benefit students throughout the Wilson Area School Districty.  In 2022, we are focused on enhancing our impact and will dedicate funding to the following key areas: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) learning; teacher innovation grants; mental health/stress reduction; multimedia career exploration; advancements in technology; and arts enrichment programming.
