Windham Cooperative Kindergarten and Nursery School was founded in 1966, as a non-profit organization, by a group of concerned mothers who saw the need for quality Preschool education. In September 2016, we will be celebrating our 50thAnniversary! We continue today, as in the past, to provide the community with quality Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten, Pre-School Enrichment and Kindergarten Enrichment programs. The Windham Co-op provides a warm and nurturing environment that fosters the development of the whole child. Our programming promotes emotional, cognitive, social, gross motor and fine motor growth.
Windham Cooperative Kindergarten and Nursery School is a preschool based on a developmental philosophy. We believe that each child deserves the opportunity to explore their environment and construct their knowledge with the love and support of their teachers and families. We respect every child at each phase of its growth in all areas of development including social, emotional, physical and educational. We also nurture and support each child’s family relationships.
Windham Cooperative Kindergarten and Nursery School believes in a child-centered approach. This enables children to build knowledge through each of their senses with a wide range of hands-on learning experiences. Our curriculum is developed to foster each child’s imagination, curiosity, and intellect. The activities are designed to be developmentally appropriate and appeal to a broad group of learners.
