In 1983 the Witham Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees recognized the importance of finding additional sources of revenue to ensure that Witham Memorial Hospital could continue to provide excellent healthcare to the community in the face of increased costs and decreased reimbursement. Thus, the Witham Memorial Hospital Foundation (now the Witham Health Services Foundation) was formed for the purpose of meeting the changing healthcare needs of our community be seeking philanthropic support for the development and improvement of Witham Memorial Hospital's (Witham Health Services') programs, facilities, technologies and services.
The Witham Health Services Foundation has supported Witham Health Services in creating the following programs; Mental Health in the ER, Reach Out and Read, Rock Steady Boxing and more. The Foundation has also supported the hospital with the purchase of a 4D mammography machine, ventilators to combat the COVID pandemic and helped start a patient transport service. The Witham Foundation also gives back to our community by offering more than $50,000 in scholarships and education loans.
