Established in 1985, the Wolf River Conservancy is an accredited land trust dedicated to protecting and enhancing the Wolf River and its watershed as a sustainable natural resource. The Wolf River Conservancy has three major focus areas—conservation, education, and recreation—that reflect our organization's mission.

·        Conservation – Since 1985, we have protected over 20,000 acres within the Wolf River watershed to improve air and water quality, provide healthy habitats for plants and animals, and protect our valuable land and water.  In 2023, over 1,100 acres were protected, 11,800 trees were planted, over 1,000 illegally dumped tires were removed from the watershed, and over 800 volunteers joined us.

·        Education – We have helped connect people to the Wolf River through education. The Conservancy has worked with over 5,200 education participants in the past year through service projects, classroom and community programs, field trips, workshops, and our lecture series.

·        Recreation—We connect people to the Wolf River through recreational opportunities. Last year, 763 participants joined our 50+ recreation and outreach trips, experiencing the Wonder of the Wolf firsthand.
