Mission: Women of Nations (WON) provides culturally-specific emergency services and support to all who have experienced domestic violence (DV) and sexual assault (SA). We empower Native American communities to put an end to all forms of violence through education and prevention.

WON was founded in 1982 as a Native American culturally-specific DV/SA crime victim/survivor services organization. WON's largest program is its 44-bed capacity Eagle's Nest Emergency DV/SA Shelter for women, children, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and their pets. Being culturally-specific means that there are Native American cultural norms, practices, traditions, and services that are unique. WON has special knowledge of those cultural considerations and makes effort to employ Native Americans and maintain its Native American leadership. WON serves all people who need it, sheltering roughly 500 people every year and provides a variety of services to around 900 people. Every person it serves or provides shelter to are actively escaping from violence or are homeless due to violence. 99.9% of WON's total service population is below the federal poverty level. Its other services include a 24/7 crisis hotline, community advocacy and outreach, youth programing and limited childcare, support and educational groups, food shelf and 3-meals a day, basic needs provisions, clothing, rental assistance, trauma informed care, pet care assistance, laundry facilities, incarcerated victim/survivor support services, case management, and general advocacy.

WON seeks assistance from Valley Fair in its youth programming efforts. During the warmer months and particulaly in the summer when school is out, WON's youth program arranges outings with the children and families in WON's programs.
