Women’s Protective Services of Lubbock, Inc. (WPS) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization specializing in advocacy for women, children and men who are victims of domestic violence. Since 1978, WPS has been serving Lubbock and eleven surrounding counties (Bailey, Cochran, Crosby, Dickens, Garza, Hockley, King, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Terry, Yoakum). The services provided at WPS are free, confidential and are available without regard to race, sex, handicap, national origin, color, religion, sexual orientation, or income. The purpose and objective of WPS is to provide a secure environment, offer community education, prevention, rehabilitation of violent family members, encourage transition to self-sufficiency and to advocate for the prevention and elimination of Domestic Abuse.
Women's Protective Services provides a wide range of crisis intervention services and support services which include: emergency shelter, food, clothing, medical assistance and a 24-hour, toll-free hotline, as well as individual and group counseling for adults and children, parenting classes, an infant stimulation program, a food and nutrition program, legal advocacy, social services referral for housing, education and child care, an onsite job readiness and job placement program, outreach services, community education, volunteer training program, and rehabilitation of violent family members through its Battering Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP). With our steadfast resolve and dedication to combatting Domestic Violence, WPS has been fortunate to witness our clients benefit from the many programs designed to create an environment of empowerment for women, children, and families; working to eliminate family violence.
