Woodland Charter School (Woodland) is in its 10th year of operating as one of the only full day, onsite, public school alternatives in Josephine County and western Jackson County in southern Oregon. Woodland seeks to kindle a life-long love of learning by providing a developmentally appropriate, arts-integrated Public Waldorf curriculum which engages the whole child: head, heart, and hands. Rich academics interwoven with human and nature studies foster a sense of belonging within the human community and a reverence for the beauty of the natural world.

Our school thrives with on-going family involvement and inspires the support of the greater community. Woodland's charter was just renewed (March, 2023) by our sponsor, Three Rivers School District. We serve 180 students in grades 1-8 from multiple area school districts and are adding a Kindergarten program in the 2023-24 school year. Our population is rural, and more than 40% of our families qualify for SNAP benefits. We serve many families that would otherwise be homeschooling, and many children who have trouble thriving within the traditional public school model.

Please note we are not located in the Eugene Metro area, but in the Medford metro area. We are somewhat rural, and our proximity to northern California makes travel to the Sacremento/Bay Area/northern CA coast not uncommon for many of our families.
