As the only State Department Refugee Resettlement Agency in the Quad Cities and within a 110-mile radius, World Relief supports some of the world’s most vulnerable people in making a new start in the United States by providing financial, logistical, educational, and wellness services to area refugees. Through the generosity of our grantors and donors, we are able to provide this comprehensive support in a variety of ways, including finding and furnishing initial housing, public assistance and healthcare access, employment and economic empowerment services, immigration and legal services, school enrollment, family English classes, specialized services for women and children, and more to victims of war and persecution who have been placed in the Quad Cities. As they transition to their new lives in the Quad Cities, World Relief aims to ensure that newly-arrived refugees are welcomed by, rooted in, and empowered for our community.
Serving roughly 1,200 people each year, World Relief clients come from places like Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Myanmar, Syria, and Sudan, and we have recently welcomed our first family from Ukraine.
