Worth A Dam was formed in 2007 to advocate for the Martinez Beavers and to educate the community about their value. We now educate other cities about the importance of beavers and how to resolve conflicts. Every year we celebrate the beavers with a large environmental festival. The festival is one of the largest nature events in Northern California and has a rare emphasis on children and families. A better understanding of beavers will help California in many ways, including water, biodiversity and fire resilience.
