Young-adults Can Achieve (YCA) was founded in 2003. Our goal is to educate disadvantaged young
people about colleges and universities. Provide them with direct exposure to these schools and offer them
college preparation activities and mentoring that will help them gain admission to these schools and
succeed once they are there. These students come from families that are likely less to be familiar with the
college preparation and application process and are often unable to afford to take their children on college
visits. By ensuring they are prepared academically, financially, and socially for college, YCA helps level
the playing field for these students, allowing them to achieve their potential.
Our outreach activities are an extensive tour of universities, usually in the Eastern part of the United States,
college preparation activities and mentoring to ensure that program participants stay focused on their goals.
Over the last eighteen years, we have helped 400+ young people and attend 60+ colleges.
