Hello from Young Voices of Austin!
My name is Michael and I am the Conductor and Music Educator for the Young Voices of Austin! Young Voices of Austin is a non-profit 501(c)(3) after-school program. YVA seeks to close the educational achievement gap among local youths; especially those defined by socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, or gender. Young Voices of Austin focuses on a three-pronged mission which emphasizes diversity, sustained academic achievement and artistic excellence. Young Voices of Austin provides young people (ages 6 through 18) with tutoring, enrichment activities, positive socialization experiences, vocal training, and much more! YVA equips young people with the tools necessary to succeed academically, socially, and artistically in a dynamic and ever-changing world!
Young Voices of Austin begins each program day by providing a meal for our students. This is a key element of our program since many of our families are on free or reduced lunch programs. During programming our participants also prepare vocal music from diverse cultural and global perspectives in order to instill and affirm values of tolerance and compassion.
Additionally, Young Voices of Austin provides participants with transportation, uniforms, snacks, music training, homework assistance, professional tutoring, SAT/ACT prep, college application assistance, and financial literacy courses; none of which would be possible without generous donations from our donors and community partners.
In return for your support, Young Voices of Austin would like to recognize your business in our event program(s)! We would also love to recognize you as a supporter on social media (Facebook!) and on our website/other printed materials with your logo! Young Voices of Austin could also provide a donation receipt letter with our tax-exemption ID number for your records.
